Well the rubber hits the road and the town has formally sent its fully engineered sewer replacement project out for bid. This is bittersweet for me as I realize the impact it will have on everyone in town. The construction is going to be very difficult and will impact everyone. There maybe some of you that will not have access to your garages or driveways for days. Some of the roads will be open to local traffic only while others will close completely. We will be having weekly construction meetings and we will do our best to notify everyone in advance of any circumstances that may cause you some inconvenience. The town website will be a great source of information where we will be tracking the progress and posting notifications.

Tacoma Water has indicated that they would like to replace some of their waterlines in areas where we are replacing the sewer lines. This will provide us with cleaner drinking water as they replace their aged water system in town. We are working to coordinate the efforts so that both sewer and water crews are able to work together as closely as possible.

Last but not least we are exploring the option of placing conduit underground for future use should the town opt to place its utilities underground. Once the bids are received council will be evaluating the merits of this proposed project.

While the work probably won’t commence until the first part of July we will see plenty of activity surrounding the Pt Ruston infrastructure project. Needless to say we are preparing for a very busy construction season and I want to thank everyone in advance for your understanding.
