Happy New Year!

We are very excited about what 2011 will bring to our town. In retrospect we made some very significant strides over the last year and plan on keeping the momentum going. In 2010 we completed the street light replacement project on Winnifred, Highland, and Shirley streets. The community center went through a renovation and is now being used for our council meetings as well as a rental facility. Town Hall received a facelift with new paint in preparation for our first car show on Winnifred Street. (The car show was well received and will be back again this year – more to come on that event later). We introduced our on-line utility billing system and followed that up with the towns’ new web-site. The town’s new website also serves as the office workflow. You are able to see the work that is being done- whether it’s a building permit or an ordinance – you can view everything on-line form start to finish. We also hired Bias Accounting to handle our bookkeeping duties and that has provided us with much better fund management.

The sewer replacement project continues to march forward and we plan on going out for bid in February with construction beginning in April or May. We completed the sewer line on 49th street which provided a Ruston sewer line to the folks that live on that street between Baltimore and Villard.
These are just a few of our accomplishments we have seen in 2010. I am extremely impressed with our town’s personnel and the consultants that represent our town. They are all extremely dedicated and have been a joy to work with. While we continue to wrestle with our financial woes, like every other municipality, we continue to strive to provide you with the very best service.

We are hitting the ground running in 2011 and look forward to what lies ahead.
