The Administrative Assistant will provide clerical and technical support to the City Clerk and Assistant City Clerk/Utility Clerk, City staff, and serve as the first point of contact for residents and visitors. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment. The Administrative Assistant role is classified as a Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) non-exempt position. Engineering Department

The City of Ruston's Engineering department reviews and approves all civil engineering aspects of development applications and street excavation permits.  Generally, the engineering review timeline is about 2 weeks on most submittals. Check out more information under Sewer and Storm water for resources for additional information and application forms.

Street Excavation Permits:

The City of Ruston requires ALL work in the Right-of-Way and within 15' of the right of way to submit plans and application materials for a Street Excavation Permit. This includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Residential Sewer/water/gas line repair
  • Electrical Utility-permanent/temporary power
  • Utility Trenching
  • CCTV Pipeline inspections
