How do I reserve a park facility?

The City of Ruston's parks and facilities can be reserved for a variety of uses. Our Parks and Facilities page has information on the forms and approved uses of each facility. Contact the City Clerk when you are ready to submit the request form and to provide the deposit fee.

How do I file a police report?

Dial 911. The City of Ruston Police Department does not have online police reporting at this time. A police officer will be dispatched and you can file a police report in person.

How do I enroll my child in school?

Student who reside in the City of Ruston, will be enrolled into the Tacoma School District. Visit Tacoma Public Schools for enrollment services and more information.

What items can be recycled?

The City of Ruston accepts plastics that are #1, #2 and #5. Numbers can be found on the bottom of the containers. The City of Ruston accepts tin and aluminum cans and clean aluminum foil. As a Pierce County resident you are able to dispose of various household hazardous waste safely and free at the Tacoma Recovery & Transfer Center. To find out information about the Genral Election, contact Pierce County. Their website will have information on ballot drop off boxes and further election information. Check back on our public notice board if there will be any local elections for the City of Ruston. This information will always be posted on our website under Notices.

How do I register to vote?

You may register to vote online or by mail through Pierce County. You may register to vote in-person at the Pierce County Election Office in Tacoma.

Do I need a permit to have an outdoor fire?

Yes. Please download and fill out the Recreational Fire Burn Permit form. A site inspection will be required and the Ruston Fire Department will approve the permit.
